Refer a Child
All "special" wishes begin with a referral.
How does a wish work?
Wishes begin with a referral followed by
1.) Completion of paperwork by family and medical personnel
2.) Determination of disorder being life-threatening
3.) Selection and planning of "special" wish with ASW.
4.) Granting of wish!
Who is eligible?
The child must have a life-threatening disorder, must be between the ages of birth up through and including age 20, and must never have had a "wish" with any other wish-granting organization.
Who can refer a child?
Anyone! Parents, grandparents, family, friends, etc!
What can a child wish for?
A "Special" Gift: Computers, televisions, electronics, video games, shopping sprees, and even a pot belly pig are some of the wishes we have granted. These wishes captivate children and help take away from the pain and uncertainty of their lives.
A "Special" Place: Whether it's a visit to a special friend or relative, amusement park, or other wish destination, ASW handles the complete travel arrangements for the child and the immediate family.
A" Special Hero": So many children dream about meeting their special hero, whether it be a sports figure, government leader, rock star, or other entertainer. A personal visit is a true morale boost for the child.
